For three years now I’ve been working on a new photo project in the field of Egyptology. The focus of this project is the Amarna Period, founded by the heretic pharao Akhenaten and his queen wife Nefertiti some 3,300 years ago. I was able to visit Egypt two times for photography (Covid did not make it easy) and also captured the important beautiful artefacts which are found in the museums worldwide.
To realise this project so far I gratefully wish to thank Prof. Barry Kemp, Hamada Kellawy and Miriam Bertram. Without their amazing support the project would not have been possible at all.
Further I wish to thank the Neues Museum in Berlin (especially Anne Herzberg-Beiersdorf), the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford, the Louvre in Paris (especially Chantal Heraud, Thyphène de Forton & Caroline Damay), the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen (especially Tine Bagh), the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York and our driver in Middle Egypt Maget Adel.
More informations about the project will follow…
